Eduardo’s Branding Project

Eduardo's branding created in Victoria Martin's Graphic Design 2

I am always amazed with the work created by Eduardo, an incredible graphic design student. He created these pieces for a roller skating rink.

Work started with sketches and a solid concept. He created research on the ideal clientele and began building assets specific to the company. Excellent work Eduardo, one day your name will be in lights.

Professor Victoria Martin student work

Today I would like to feature Dot a graphic design student at Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth. He created this work as part of his end of term portfolio. The students created a surreal world. Dot created an environment based on a favorite video game.
The image above is the montage he created for the assignment. Below he includes a sidebar to illustrate all of the components found in the composition.

The bottom image shows how he mocked up a landing page, which included a thumbnail of his game artwork. Well done, Dot. As always, your layout and presentation are top-notch.

Professor Victoria Martin student work: Zaire

Today I would love to introduce you to another extremely talented student named Zaire. The image above was created in Photoshop 1 as his art history piece.

His influence was Japanese Urban Art and Anime. The colors glow. Check out the halo effect around the upper edge of the beast as he removes the skin from his bones. Sweet and really scary at the same time.

I also really like the use of contrasting colors. Note the little green tinge around the eyeball. Well done Zaire. This week of Thanksgiving I am thankful to have such wonderful, talented students in my classroom. Thanks for making my job such a joy.

Student Feature: Gustav

This morning I would like to give a shout out to yet another talented design student here at Palm Beach State; say hello to Gustav. These pieces were created as self promotional work in my Design Fundamentals class. Gustav has only just started but I can already see a style emerging in his work. Can you?

Colorful celebrity Pop Posters. He is all about color. I can already see a strength with composition. Look at the balance in each piece. See how Gustav uses color and line to move your eye. These pieces are electric. Just the right balance of dynamic color and neutral.

I consider myself lucky having students like Gustav in my classroom. Your work inspires other students and you demonstrate how effortless good design can be. Well done!
