This post features Graphic Design student Kayla’s menu designs. The piece was made while she was registered for my Publication Design 1 course at Palm Beach State, Lake Worth Campus. Students are asked to find a restaurant that needs a branding upgrade. The images of food were taken from the restaurant’s Instagram and for the drink, we added the logo in Photoshop. Great job Kayla, I am sure there will be many more clients in your future.
I just realized how long it had been since my last post.
I wanted to share this piece by the very talented Ivy. This assignment was to create a South Florida lifeguard stand. It’s one of my favorite student pieces from Fall 23 term. It was created using Photoshop and Illustrator.
Below is her submission for the sketchbook project. Traditional sketch alongside the digital final. Thanks for being such a joy to instruct, and such an inspiration to teach.
Today I would like to share a brochure created by Kat C. This stunning design was created in Typography class. The students had to create a minimum of eight-pages. Being the spectacular A+ student, Kat did more and each page was more stunning than the next. Fantastic type choices, great layout and readability. This girl has so much potential, it’s just crazy. Thank you Kat for inspiring both me and your classmates.
Hats off to the incredibly talented graphic design student Dot; who makes everything he does look effortless.
This piece is based on the Synergy Imagery assignment. Cool overlapping and blend options. This design demonstrates you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Just have a great concept, use high res images, and experiment with type and color.
